Booster Club Treasurer Spreadsheet: Fees, Sponsors & Bank Match

Booster presidents ask the same thing at every monthly meeting: does the bank statement match the balance the treasurer is reporting?

A bank reconciliation answers it in four steps. Start from the statement's ending balance. Add deposits in transit, money you recorded that the bank hasn't posted yet. Subtract outstanding checks, written but not yet cleared. The adjusted figure should equal your book balance exactly. "Close enough" is where errors and missing cash hide, so any difference gets explained before the meeting, not after.

Our Booster Club Treasurer spreadsheet for Excel and Google Sheets does the arithmetic: type the statement ending balance and it works out outstanding checks and deposits in transit, and it only says BALANCED when the difference is exactly zero. Player fees and sponsor money are tracked to the actual deposit by ID, so a family paying in two parts adds up correctly. A Monthly Board Report has signature lines, and a Year End & Handover tab helps the next treasurer. In the fictional football booster example, the bank is BALANCED at a book balance of 6,379.75.
